The
City of Hialeah Garden’s Human Services Department is committed
to providing our elderly community with food, fun, and entertainment.
Hollingsworth Hall, commonly referred to as the Senior Center, is
located at 10003 N.W. 87th Avenue and offers balanced daily meals
to senior citizens. A snack, lunch, and weekend meals are provided
to both homebound and congregate participants.
In addition to the nutrition program, activities such as dominoes,
bingo, card games, holiday parties and birthday celebrations are
part of the center’s itinerary. Fieldtrips to local attractions
like the Seaquarium, Bayside Marketplace, Miccosukee Gaming, and
the Spanish Monastery are among the many places visited by our seniors
just this past year. These activities and outings add up to countless
hours of enjoyment and social interaction in a friendly and nurturing
environment.
Transportation is provided by the City on a daily basis to our center
and all planned field trips. Our seniors are also offered once a
week excursions to local supermarkets for their grocery shopping
needs.
We are proud of our senior program, which has served to enrich the
lives of our many retirees; those who have chosen to live their
golden years here in the City of Hialeah Gardens.
