The City’s Building Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with the South Florida Building Code as well as the City Code. The Department reviews and issues all building permits for both new construction and renovations. All structural/building, mechanical, plumbing electrical and roofing inspections are performed by qualified and licensed inspectors who determine compliance with all necessary codes.

The Building Department is located next to City Hall at 10001 N.W. 87th Avenue in Hialeah Gardens. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. All permit applications and general requirements are available for pickup or may be downloaded from the City’s website.
